Halbjorn
Name: Halbjorn Thorsson
Age: 25
Height: 7'
Weight: 1003 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Red
Relatives: Odin (Grandfather), Frigga (Grandmother), Loki (Grandfather), Sigyn (Grandmother), Thor (Father), Einmyria (Mother), Sif (Other Mother), Heimdall (Uncle), Jord/Gaea (Grandmother), Atum (Uncle), Vidar (Uncle), Blader (Uncle), Svalin (sister), Aridis (sister)< Asleif (sister), Skari (brother), Eir (sister), Astrid (sister),
Base of Operations: West Coast Avengers compound, Los Angeles
Skills: From the time he began to show signs of the mixed-blessing of the berserker, Halbjorn had an exceptionally focused education, mostly to prepare him for coping with his gift while still being able to live a relatively normal life as one of the princes of Asgard. Unlike his siblings, most of his formal education is near the most remedial levels. He can read simple text and sign his name, but is functionally illiterate. He has a little training in small unit tactics, but nothing near the level of his warrior sister, or even many warriors of Asgard.

He is fairly skilled in outdoorscraft. A fairly good tracker and hunter, he could survive indefinitely in the outdoors, and often prefers it to civilization. He is also extraordinary at mountaineering, climbing, swimming and running, all learned in the wilds of Asgard.

Other than wilderness survival, his personal training was based almost entirely upon armed and unarmed combat. He lacks the finesse of Svalin's more focused and balanced training, and while he's ok with a bow, he can't begin to approach Aridis. When it comes to the berserkers' style, however, he's one of the greatest Asgard has ever seen for raw talent and potential. He's far faster than his size would indicate, and wields a variety of weapons, especially mauls, hammers, broadswords, two-handed swords and axes with a skill and ferocity far beyond his years, even among Asgardians.

Powers:
Immortality: While not truly immortal like some of the godly pantheons, Asgardians are extremely long-lived, and functionally imortal for most intents and purposes, at least until Ragnarok. Like all Asgardians, this trait makes Halbjorn resistant to most poisons, and immune to all known diseases.

Willpower: The Aesir are gods, and exceptionally dutiful and focused gods at that. Son of Thor and a house-witch, Halbjorn is not quite up to his father's standards, but otherwise is exceedingly resistant to possession, mind-control and similar effects. Additionally, as a Bear-sark, Halbjorn does not know any fear, and even beyond most Asgardians, he is entirely immune to effects which cause or manipulate fear.

Magic-Resistance: Becoming a bear-jherk warrior completely shattered any potential Halbjorn ever had for using magic himself, despite being of the line of Loki. However, due to this, his line, and warding blessings placed upon him at birth, Halbjorn is more resistant than most Asgardians to the forces of magic. He is not immune, but most spells will have a lessened effect, or if they're a matter of success or failure, they're more likely than normal to fail or have the enchantment broken.
On the down side, this resistance does translate into an additional difficulty. He lacks the typical Asgardian affinity with use of most magical items. He finds it almost impossible to use magical scrolls, wands, staves, etc. Other complex mystical effects, such as scrying pools, are unlikely to work at all for him.

Regeneration: All Asgardians heal much faster than humans, usually about eight times quicker. While they cannot regrow lost limbs and the like, injuries up to and including severe internal injuries will normally heal with time.

Aesir Tongue: Halbjorn can speak German, Norwegian and some English, but primarily speaks the language of the Aesir. When he speaks, all listeners will hear what he says in an archaic version of their own language, which is why most Americans hear him speaking in Middle English.

Animal Affinity: While not a strong power, per se, Halbjorn's bear totem does harbor a certain affinity with most other predatorial creatures, especially other predatory mammals. Very few such creatures will attack Halbjorn under any circumstance, and he tends to get on very well with them. While he would normally lack the patience and focus to train most animals, because of this empathy, he does have some capacity to train predatory mammals.
On the down side, if they're unused to him, most non-predators tend to feel somewhat uneasy around him.

Strength: All Asgardians are far stronger than baseline humanity. Of the line of Thor and with frost giant blood, its been theorized that when fully matured, Halbjorn may possess levels of strength equal to or perhaps greater than his father. He's not yet full grown, as hasn't acheived his full strength, but is at least as strong as his father was at his age, as by far the strongest of his siblings. While his limits are unknown, he current lifts well in excess of 100 tons.

Endurance: All Asgardians are more resilient and enduring than normal humans, and Halbjorn is no exception . Taking after his father, he is capable of engaging in normal activities for a few weeks without needing rest, and combat or similarly draining activities for days without slowing. The exception is when Halbjorn enters the bear-sark fury, after which he's always left somewhat drained.

Invulnerability: Asgardians possess greater flesh and bone density than humans, and as such are much more resistant to injury. Of the line of Thor, and possessing giantish heritage, Halbjorn lives up to his name as the 'Stone Bear'. While he has not acheived full maturity yet, he is already one of the most resilient of Asgardians, not quite to, but approaching the durability of Volstagg and his father.

Bear-Sark: All Asgardians are capable of entering the warrior madness. For most, its a final act to give them greater resilience and fury for a last stand, or a result of losing themselves in a great fight. Most who enter the madness will never escape it, lusting after nothing but battle until killed. The Bear-Jherk warriors exist among the Asgardians just as they did among the cultures who worshipped them - warriors capable of instilling the warrior madness in themselves to and entering a berserk state and then recovering again afterwards, though the madness is never far below the surface, and can be triggered in less than ideal circumstances.

During the rage, the berserker doesn't feel any pain, and is possessed of unnatural strength and endurance, fighting just as the legendary berserkers did, until there's not enough left of them to carry on. In this state, Halbjorn becomes an almost unstoppable engine of destruction, but cannot use careful tactics or teamwork, and is a danger to everything and everyone around him, friends included, and he will not retreat under any circumstances. He will continue to fight until nothing remains moving in his line of vision and the area around him no longer sounds like battle. Anything which can be construed as further challenge or threat is likely to be attacked. So far, only his sisters have shown any adeptness at drawing him out of a rage once it begins before everything around him is leveled.

During a berserk rage, the bear spirit within him allows him to interact with the spirit world, and to affect incorporeal beings as if they were perfectly solid. This includes being able to see astral beings and others who use similar means to attain invisibility. He cannot otherwise interact with spirits or astral beings at normal times.
Following a bear-sark, Halbjorn is always left exhausted, though often ecstatically happy for some time.

History:
Halbjorn is one of the bear-sarks, blessed from before his birth, with the blood of the Prince of Asgard and the frost giants both. The price is already high - he was born with almost no capacity for magic at all, even the simple spells and wardings many of the Aesir know beyond him. But he also possessed great strength and endurance, much like his father, to help prepare him for the trials ahead.
When he was ten years old, he was guided by omens, scouts and his mother's sorcerous gifts and taken on a spirit quest, his first hunt. He hunted and killed a bear spirit alone. He prayed to its spirit for its strength and forgiveness, and was guided to consume its heart, and to discard his armor, foreswearing its use, making a cloak from the bear's hide to serve as his only protection. He also learned that this was only his first test - as one of the young princes of the realm, he would one day be tested again, in a place called America. The peoples of that land believed one of the manifestations of Death was in the form of a great and terrible bear, which only their greatest hero of legend had ever bested. In time, his half-sister the Valkyrie would see this manifestation, and he would be forced to take the same test, either to succeed, and fashion a new cloak from its hide in turn and gather its strength, or to fail and die along with the soul it had come for - a person who was to die before his or her time due to black magicks twisting fate.
Since that time, he has trained non-stop in the arts of warfare, facing down many of the same foes the gods always have, knowing one day he was to leave Asgard to fulfill his destiny, and dedicating himself to the quest to both be worthy of his heritage, and to be brave and capable enough to succeed in the quest he was born for. In the intervening time, he has become quite close to his half-sister, with their fates intertwined in the same quest.

Personality: Halbjorn isn't the brightest, in general, or of his siblings. He tends to be extremely straightforward and simple, wearing his emotions on his sleeve and not keeping much in reserve. He speaks his mind, often even when inappropriate, and lacks a lot of social graces beyond that which would get him by in the local tavern. He is exceptionally focused and duty-driven. Halbjorn loves combat above all else, and constantly seeks to test himself against the greatest challenges he can find, and is quite willing to risk his life in these pursuits. While he also enjoys revelry, storytelling, drinking and wenching, there's little question that the next fight is usually foremost on his mind.

Miscellaneous: Unlike most Asgardians, but like all berserkers, Halbjorn will not wear any armor beyond his bear-skin cloak. Among the berserkers, their own skill and durability have to suffice.
