Name: Iason
Age: 19
Height: 6'3
Weight: 275
Eyes: Vary
Hair: Brown
Relatives: Ikaris (father), Her (mother)
Base of Operations: Avengers, Olympia, Space
Skills:
Ikaris is one of the singularly most formidable of the Eternals, and insisted in instilling much of his training in his son. Iason is well trained in a variety of combat types, mostly unarmed and using the natural abilities of the Eternals.
Under training from two immortals, and raised partly in Eternal society, Iason has begun looking at a long-view perspective. Most Eternals have a variety of interests to keep them occupied over their long existences. Iason, as he puts it, collects hobbies. While not a master of any of his arts, he enjoys studying political structures, history, linguistics, computer sciences, surfing, cooking and a variety of dances, and is frequently looking to add new hobbies to his collection.
Powers:
All Eternals share a number of abilities in common, and while Iason's mother is not an Eternal, she is a cosmic being who shares a large number of their abilities while possessing others in addition also relating to the manipulation of cosmic energy. This mixed blood has led to Iason possessing a number of these abilities to greater or lesser degrees than either parent, or alterations to some abilities possessed by either side of his lineage.
Energy Control: Eternals' powers come from their individual manipulations of the cosmic energy they're composed of. While all Eternals share a number of powers in common, but also tend to have individual specialties based on their focus. Iason's relationship to Her has slightly altered the composition of this energy, though by and large, his abilities are similar, though where it differs, it usually does so in a nature leaning towards his mother's abilities.
Stamina: Eternals, and Iason, are composed of cosmic energy. They do not fatigue, and no not require food, air, water or sleep, though many of them enjoy partaking of food and drink at times, and some are capable of sleeping and dreaming if they wish to.
Durability: Eternals' structure, as well as Her's are vastly more durable than most mortal beings'. Similar to most Eternals, Iason is capable of surviving comfortably in the vacuum of space or the deepest ocean. He is immune to all degrees of heat and cold, from the heat of a sun to absolute zero. He is only minimally effected by electricity, and has a considerable degree of resistance to most other forms of energy and radiation. He is immune to all known diseases and toxins, as he does not have a conventional physiology.
All Eternals also have greater or lesser degrees of resistance to physical injury. Iason's parents share similar degrees of such resistance, and have passed it on to their child - he is normally about as physically resilient as Ikaris, on the higher end of the Eternals, but considerably below The Forgotten One, Interloper or Thanos. Similar to his mother's ability, he can temporarily alter his state to boost his physical toughness to somewhere in The Forgotten One's range, but he cannot do so indefinitely without a source of cosmic energy to absorb - under Earth conditions, he can maintain this for about two hours. In space, that time roughly doubles.
Super Strength: Iason possesses a mixture of his parent's abilities. On his own, similarly to his mother, Iason is stronger than any of the Eternals except The Forgotten One, Interloper or Thanos without manipulation of cosmic energy. One of the stunts of energy manipulation that comes the most easily to him is boosting his raw strength, similar to his mother's ability. He normally lifts about 80 tons, but can boost himself to a similar level to Hercules or the Forgotten One. Similar to durability, without a source of cosmic energy, he cannot maintain this indefinitely.
Flight: Like all Eternals, Iason is able to fly. Inside a planetary atmosphere, he's limited to about MACH 10. In space, he's capable of opening warp gates to travel interstellar distances quickly.
Energy Blasts: Iason's parentage has given him higher than normal capacity for energy blasts. Ikaris has among the strongest of all Eternals, surpassed only by Zuras and Thanos, while Her has similar ability. He is able to generate intense blasts of raw cosmic energy, concussive blasts up to 500 psi and heat up to 5000 degrees F, but if he uses these abilities above the normal standards for Eternals, about 200 psi and 2000 degrees F, it will exhaust his ability to manipulate cosmic energy similar to his strength and durability boosts.
Cosmic Awareness: Similar to Her, Iason is sensitive to the ebb and flow of cosmic energy, and able to detect great disruptions of it on a cosmic scale. He will occasionally have precognative dreams, and he can detect the presence of and identitfy great cosmic enetities even if he's never encountered them. Likewise, he has a degree of danger sense that warns him of threats from most of the types of beings who share a scale with the Eternals, such as gods and cosmic enetities. These dreams and warnings are often vague, and if large enough, can leave him with migraine caliber headaches for hours.
Regeneration: All eternals heal very rapidly by human standards. Without manipulating his personal energies, he heals about ten times faster than a human being would. He can roughly double this by use of his personal energies, but this will wear his stores down faster than any other ability. Like Eternals, he can heal severed limbs and massive wounds, up to and including the scattering of his atoms in a small area.
Telekinesis/Telepathy: Iason possesses almost no capacity for these standard Eternal abilities. He can only telepathically communicate with other Eternals and naturally telepathic beings. His only capacity for telekinesis is an aspect of tactile telekinesis - anything he can lift will not break or crumble under its own weight, allowing him to use his strength, boosted or no, to perform otherwise impossible feats of strength beyond the normal realms of physics.
Levitation: Iason is far weaker than most Eternals in this regard. While very capable and skilled at flight, beyond even many Eternals, he cannot levitate others, but is able to hover without effort, and can turn on a dime, and adjust himself up, down, backwards or at angles just as easily as moving forward when flying.
Illusions: Iason entirely lacks the typical Eternal facility with illusions. He is somewhat sensitive to them, and has a greater than normal capacity for detecting whether something is illusory or real, and he can usually detect the presence of invisible beings, if not their exact location.
Senses: Similar to his father, and his sensitivity to illusions and invisiblity, all of Iason's senses are heightened. Not as acute as Ikaris' own, he still possesses 20/10 vision, ability to smell as well as an average bloodhound, hear significantly above and below the human range, and can tell the difference between most materials by touch alone.
Matter Manipulation: Iason has no real capacity for the molecular rearranging of other objects or people, but has sufficient control over his own structure as to be highly resistant to being transformed or manipulated in this fashion.
Psychic Resistance: Similar to both parents and many Eternals, Iason is somewhat resistant to psychic manipulation, and while not entirely immune, he will be able to resist longer than all but the most protected or strong willed individuals, and even if controlled or affected, would require near constant maintenance to keep psychic control or possession over.
Teleportation: All Eternals possess this ability to one degree or another. Iason is one of the very worst at it, and any attempt to do so has a high likelihood of leaving him weakened and temporarily paralyzed on the other side.
Uni-Mind: Like all Eternals, Iason can join the Uni-Mind, but for unknown reasons, likely his mixed heritage, shows no potential for ever being able to become Prime Eternal or calling the Uni-Mind.
History:
Iason is the result of Her/Kismet's ongoing attempts to find the perfect mate from among the powerful cosmic males of the universe, believing her role in the cosmos is to mother children who will affect the cosmos on a significant scale, eventually. Her awareness and quest, and failed attempts to seduce the Forgotten One eventually led her to Ikaris, serving as Prime Eternal, and with the death of Margo Damian, he was open to her attentions.
Named by Olympian Eternal conventions, he was raised part of the time in Olympia, learning the ways of his people and being trained particularly in the ways of combat, following his father's militaristic preferences for directing Eternal powers, and partially roaming the spaceways with his mother, learning the nature of the universe and gaining an understanding of his heightened perceptions.
One of the extraordinarily rare new generation of Titans who hadn't lived through the ages of the past, it was eventually determined by both of his parents that he was missing an element of empathy and connection with the mortal beings of the galaxy most Titans had gained in their time as heroes and gods to humankind, and Her had built in to her creation. Ikaris in particular was eager to instill this perspective into his son, given his own past connection with Margo and other mortals, back to the origins of his taking his name from mortal tragedy. Counseled by Iason's aunt Sersi and Starfox of the Eternals of Titan, it was elected Iason should join the new roster of Avengers and serve as a hero at least for a time, while Her was entirely amenable to the idea of her child joining the heroes of Earth. His parents share little now beyond their joint tie to him, but both have a tendency to check in on him now and then, just to make life difficult.
Personality: Iason is curious, studious, and loves encountering new things and people. Well versed in encountering a variety of cultures, he's good at finding out the basic necessities of getting by in day to day life. On the other hand, he hasn't spent a great deal of time in any of these cultures, and has difficulty forging strong connections to others, and is often somewhat distant or reserved.
