Biography:
A prehistoric turtle hatched some sixty-five million years ago, Grogg was frozen in an iceberg until he was awakened, mutated, and enlarged to gigantic size by atomic testing. He then proceeded to stomp on Tokyo off and on for the next fifty years, causing incredible amounts of property damage. Grogg was usually stopped in these rampages by either the military, scientists, local super-heroes, and, occasionally, friendly Kaiju. On occasion, Grogg was known to fight Kaiju worse than he was, and even once teamed up with Godzilla (who he normally hates), Rodan, and Mothra to battle King Ghidora.
Eventually, one of Grogg’s rampage’s was stopped by the use of Pym Particles, bringing him down to a much more manageable size. He was then placed in the custody of the Japanese government. As the overall damage he had caused was $3, 976, 853, 432, 287.96, it was decided he would be put to work working off his debt. Due to the large amount involved and the fact Grogg continues to rack up further debt, it is generally assumed he will be working for the government for the next several hundred years.
As a member of Big Hero Six, Grogg is an especially beloved figure to the children of Japan (he is considered to be "Friend of All Children!") and is considered a national hero. He provided his own stunts in a movie adaptation of one of his giant-sized adventures. He endorses a brand of candy bars. Similarly to Godzilla, Grogg, even though he rampaged on the country, remains a cult status hero, with several films and cartoon series having been made about him, along with significant amounts of merchandise.
Grogg is in a relationship of some kind with the insectoid Kaiju Mothra. Most people have decided it's better not to ask.
